White Spotted Hermit*

The White Spotted Hermit (Dardanus megistos) is the second largest hermit crab we carry, and will inhabit a softball size shell when fully grown. This species will hunt small or sleeping fish, and prey on other invertebrates. It is not reef safe, and is suitable for touch tanks, aggressive tanks, display sumps, or species only tanks. They have large claws when it reaches adulthood, but is unlikely to seriously harm you if you get pinched. They should be fed meaty food items. You should get a series of shells for them to later occupy. (Our "Empty Shells" product is too small)
