Red Striped Shrimp or Kukenthal's Shrimp (Lysmata kuekenthali) are omnivores that will feed on leftover foods, and sometimes pick at algae. Most people keep them though because they will eat nuisance Aiptasia anemones. These shrimp have variable red striping on their back, making it an attractive addition to the tank. This species is hermaphroditic and gets along well in groups with other Lysmata species, including it's Atlantic Ocean counterpart, the Peppermint Shrimp. They are generally hardy once established in the aquarium.

This species is compatible with:

Coral Banded Shrimp (Any)
