The Lightning Dove Snail (Pictocolumbella ocellata) will consume film algae, diatoms, fine hair algae, algal detritus and some species of cyanobacteria in your aquarium. They prefer hard surfaces but will spend some time on the sand. This species is imported from the Philippines and grows to ".75 inches. The eggs of this species hatch fully formed, and do not have a planktonic stage. As a result, they can breed in regular aquariums, though they are not usually prolific. We cannot determine the sex of a particular specimen, if you would like to breed them the rule of thumb is that if you add 6 or more you can be 99% assured there is more than one of each sex. At times in the past we have received the red variations of this species, but have not recently.
This species requires UPS Next Day Air or Express Mail and does not qualify for free shipping.
