The Crowned Turbo Snail, Lunella coronata, (previously named Turbo coronatus) grows to about the size of a golf ball. It is especially good at removing hair algae, but will also consume film algae and diatoms. This species is often sold as a Turbo Snail as it was previously named Turbo coronatus. These snails also consume some turf algae species and complex macroalgae species of Caulerpa, Dictyota. It is a hardy snail that can be easily kept in tanks with normal water parameters, with nitrate levels lower than 40 ppm. Caution should be taken with these snails if you have unstable rock work, as they spend much of their time cleaning rocks, and can sometimes move loose rocks.

The Crowned Turbo Snails we will send are fairly large, about 75% of their adult size unless the listing title says "Young Specimens". In that case they are about 25% their adult size. They eat a good amount of hair algae, and if there is insufficient food in your tank they should be fed edible filamentous macro algae or seaweed sheets.

We recommend quantities over 5 be shipped with UPS
