Botryocladia (Red Grape)
Botryocladia occidentalis is a red macro algae with small grape like bladders that help it keep afloat and upright. It looks great, and is easily kept. It is commonly called "Red Grape", and "Red Grape Caulerpa", but it is not related to the Caulerpas at all, and can be shipped to the state of California. It does not have high lighting needs, and should do well under 2-4 watts per gallon of full spectrum light. It should be attached to either rock or a shell, although it can be planted into the substrate. For a red macro algae, it grows pretty quickly, but it is not likely to overrun your tank.
We will ship you a piece that is approximately 5 inches tall, and three inches wide.
