The Micro Decorator Crab, (Naxia sp.), is a tiny slow moving crab that loves to keep calcified algae clean of debris and hair algae. These little guys are about the size of Abraham Lincoln on a penny. They are very peaceful, and very slow moving. Think about a tiny sloth that hangs out on calcified macroalgae all day eating any hair algae that grows on it. They will also hang out on rocks, but they prefer the additional camouflage macroalgae offers. Unlike other decorator crabs these crabs do not attach items from your aquarium to their backs and wear it around. Their camouflage comes from color changes due to eating pigmented algae, their small size, odd shape, and slow movement.

We will likely have to ship them attached to a small piece of algae that they are on in our tank so as not to disturb them, unless they crawl off prior to shipping.

You should arrange to be home to accept live packages. Packages are often left in mailboxes and around doors you may not frequently use.
